Holy Smoke!

When one thinks of Marijuana smoking in religious traditions one may think of Rastafarianism.

One may think of Indian Sadhus.

One certainly does not think of Roman Catholic Benedictine Monks who purport themselves as being traditional and whose Abbot, David Cuthbert Brogan appears among signatories in letters that defend traditional church teaching!

Is that a joint / Reefa on the arm of the bench?

    1. I've enlarged the picture and agree with you that it is a pipe knife. My suspicion concurred with other information I have received and as a bit of a computer novice still, I did not immediately think to try and enlarge the picture, which I have now done. Were it not for this other information I would immediately remove the post but I am convinced Marijuana has and therefore likely is being consumed on the premises. Given all the other paraphernalia is in view one wonders where the tobacco pouch / tin is? Or what that small box under the disposable lighter is? Could it be a zippo lighter? Given the community's access to young catholic gentlemen and minded of medical advice, one hopes even the legal habit is not promoted to them either overtly or subversively.
